Firstly the weather. Really, as soon as August went suddenly we're well into Autumn, and I for one am not ready. I want to be wearing bare legs and flip-flops, not woolly tights and boots. Plenty of time for that for the next nine months! Hmm... beginning to think I live in the wrong country!
Then there's the fact that two weeks ago my daughter got married. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it's still a big change, not least because I've just realised I am now a Mother In Law!! Now that really is a terrifying thought! I suppose it was bound to happen one day, but it still feels a bit weird.
Then two days ago my son started in Year 11. To me he's still my little baby so to see him, a good three inches taller than me, getting stuck into his GCSEs and talking about what he wants to do next year, is a strange feeling. And then this morning he had a shower without being told to! Life no longer makes any sense! :-)
So I decided to make things normal again in the best possible way. I'm baking a large chocolate cake and plan to eat a major portion of it. That should restore order to my universe!
